| - I am not the kind of person who likes to give negative reviews, but I feel responsible to anyone who considers moving here to give an accurate depiction of the complex.
First, the good. The maintenance team is awesome and very nice. Most of the people in the office are kind, like the gentleman who works there (I'm not good with names, sorry.) Pool area is nice.
Now, the bad. I'm afraid there's a lot more bad than good.
Some of the office staff have that fake, Snobsdale attitude about helping residents. I'm looking at you, Kelly (? Again not sure on her name. Im referring to the fifty something bleach blond. I think she is, or was, the manager) It might seem like a minor problem, but it's incredibly annoying when you need to deal with her. One time my car was blocked into its space by a uhaul truck and she was disgustingly unwilling to help.
Then there's the security. My car was broken into twice. Each time nothing of value was taken. When I mentioned this casually to Kelly, she actually raised her freaking voice at me and told me I should have contacted the police. I told her nothing of value was taken and I was on my work that morning so I didn't have time. She gave me that awful entitled sigh I'm sure so many are familiar with. In my opinion, the rent at this place is too high to have to deal with break ins and a roaming homeless population in the parking lot. I'm not sure what security does. I know it's some outsourced company. The only time I saw them is when my friends and I tried to go to the pool at 10:30, only to be kicked out by them because apparently the pool was closed? We were told by management it was open 24 hours, but whatever.
We had constant maintenance problems. One time a pipe burst and leaked water all over our bedroom and closet. I had to go into work late so I could meet the carpet replacement people. They were three hours late and when they got there, I had to leave immediately. Well I got home to find that they had replaced the bedroom carpet but not the closet. I didn't have their number, so I called the complex. I was greeted with the typical condescending attitude and asked why I didn't tell the carpet company to replace the closet carpet, too. I told her I did, and she didn't believe me. We ended up having to suck it up and live with shitty water damaged carpet. All the fixtures in the place were really cheap and broke routinely.
Then, the move out. Oh my god. As others have noted, it was the worst experience I've ever had with a rental company. We were told by Kelly that we needed to have the apartment professionally cleaned as well as the carpet. We thought his was odd, considering the same woman had told us on move in that the carpet was replaced every two years, and we had lived there for over two years. We inquired about that, but she told us we must have been mistaken, they only replace carpet every five years. Ok, again, whatever. We spent hundreds of dollars doing this, then we received a bill with a $400 charge for carpet replacement throughout the house. Why did we spend hundreds of dollars out of our pockets to clean carpet that you were going to replace? We're just going to pay it without a fight so that we can wash our hands of this place.
The moral of the story? Don't move here. You're better off living in the section eight housing across the street. I'm sure the rent is way more reasonable, anyway.
