  • I grew up in Salisbury, and when I was a kid, we would pass through Lexington regularly on the way to my doctor appointments at Baptist Hospital. So Lexington barbecue is my gold standard, and I haven't been disappointed by Sauceman's. It's the only place I have found in Charlotte where the barbecue tastes like what I got growing up. My boyfriend got the sweet potato fries once, and they were decent but a little mushy. But that chopped barbecue, OMG. And the red slaw.
