  • My roommate and I moved into Onnix in May on a three-month lease, to bridge time before moving out of state for school, and we really thought it was a good apartment complex. Obviously we should have checked their Yelp reviews first. When we first moved in, after getting everything set up, we discovered that the Internet cables were disconnected and someone needed to come out and fix it. Onnix didn't provide somebody for this despite being advertised as "ready for cable/internet/phone," so we needed to call for somebody. Cox came out and there was trouble with the wiring, and they were most likely going to need to rip out the old line and put in another one. The technician went to the Onnix office to get permission and was denied. At the time I worked from home so I needed access to the Internet, and it was like the staff had a complete disinterest in my need. Not only that, but it took a full three weeks to get internet installed after move-in, and during those three weeks, not one person I spoke to who worked for Onnix told me the same thing, and it was clear they all were on completely different pages from each other. After the Internet situation, I thought things would get better, but (if you read some other reviews), then came the weekly (and sometimes bi-weekly) water shut offs in the middle of the day. I can recall two occasions where neither I nor my roommate got notifications for the shut-offs, and they usually last for about three hours. About a week after move-in, we also noticed that our air vent was leaking what I could only hope was water. When we told the front office, they sent somebody over who said they'd fixed it, but that same day it was still leaking (they also charged us a maintenance fee for something that should have been functional BEFORE we moved in). After the second maintenance person came by to fix it, he left us a slip of paper letting us know what services he'd provided, and instead of fixing our air vent he had "unclogged" the completely clog-free sink in our bathroom. We lived here for three months, and our air vent never got fixed. About a month into living here, we got a 48-hour notice that somebody was going to come by and spray for roaches, so we needed to move EVERYTHING out of our kitchen and bathroom and make sure our dog wasn't in the apartment during the time they had scheduled. Considering we had never seen a single roach, we thought it was weird, but we did it anyway. The day they were supposed to come to spray, my roommate called the front office to ask if we needed to leave the door unlocked, and they told him that the spraying had been cancelled. My roommate put everything back in the kitchen and bathroom, only to get a call from the office telling him that the sprayer would be at our apartment in an hour. So my roommate pulled everything back out again. The bug sprayer never showed up. A month later, we got another 48 hour notice that somebody was coming to spray, so we cleaned out our entire kitchen and bathroom for the third time. This is another circumstance of the office staff having no idea what's happening, ever. Aside from our in-apartment problems, we were never happy with Onnix. Their laundry facilities are hardly ever functional, and we usually had to drag our laundry across the complex to a laundry room further from us because the one close to our apartment was ALWAYS out of order. The staff is full of people who don't have the answers to a lot of important questions and are clearly not communicating well, so it was difficult to talk with them about anything. They also never answer their phones, and in order to get an answer (even on their supposed "emergency line"), I would have to call at least three times. My roommate and I moved out on August 21st even though our lease wouldn't be up until the 25th because we just didn't want to deal with the complex anymore. That being said, I just got a call from Onnix to pay remaining fees, on October 1st, over a month after the lease ended. On August 21st we had gone to the front offices to make sure we had paid off all of our bills and fees, and they told us we were 100% done, which clearly was not the truth. They also tried to charge me $50 for a key FOB they never gave me. If you're considering moving here for more than a very short term period, I would strongly, STRONGLY advise against it.
