| - I used Yellow Cab twice. The first time everything went great. I had called the night before for an early pick up and the driver even showed up early. However, two weeks ago, after reserving the day before for a 12:15pm cab, no one showed up. I called a few minutes after 12:15, a bit nervous, because I didn't want to miss my 1:45 flight. After waiting for a couple minutes, the woman at the other end of the line told me their system was down so she couldn't tell me whether the cab was actually on its way. I said, fine, then please dispatch another cab to be safe. She said she couldn't do that because the system was down. The woman should have told me immediately that the drivers themselves probably didn't know where/when they needed to be, but I had to ask several questions to be told as much. So I called another cab company (they arrived almost 30 minutes later and, yes, I almost missed my flight).
I never received an apology nor a follow up phone call nor a promise for a free ride. Yellow Cab is good at taking reservations, but, apparently, that's about all. Do not trust them.
It's too bad, because I like to encourage smaller/local businesses. As you can guess, when I got back to Phoenix I took an Uber home.
