| - I don't usually write reviews for dentists, or anything not a restaurant. However after seeing the only review Dr. Pounds has isn't the best, I feel it incumbent to step in here.
My wife and I lived downtown for many years and Dr. Pounds was our dentist of choice. I'm a real wuss with pain in general. I'd literally take orajel wtih me on my walk over in the mornings and have so much of it on my gums before even getting there. That much of a whimp I kid you not. Well beyond what you'd expect, she was totally pain free. Very gentle, worked with me, extra numbing agents rubbed on my gums before injecting, did a great job making sure I wasn't about to freak out.
Also since I hadn't been to a dentist in 18 years my first trip there was going to be bad no matter what. Well the hygenist, Leslie I think, worked so hard to ensure I wasn't in pain. She knew I was going to bleed from not flossing and neglecting and needed to use the ultrasonic tool to get the mineral deposits off my teeth, would take frequent breaks to allow me to rinse, stand up, etc. Again my own neglect created the need for the cleaning to be rough, but it wasn't.
And they continued to express interest in me coming back, not from a financial standpoint, but from one of we want to finish getting your mouth in order. Always asking about my wife, my hobbies, very warm and personable people.
And no pain. Best dentist I've found in 20 years. Oh and side note - when my wisdom teeth acted up to the point I couldn't open my mouth, needed them pulled in an emergency situation, Dr. Pounds on her own time on a Friday, called me in prescriptions to get antibiotics to get me through it. Contacted her through Facebook and she responded. How many dentists do that?
Great dentist, and very caring.
