| - Got a scandalously cheap rate for a room 'cause we were returning customers.
But they didn't have our room available when we checked in at 1230 am -- they'd given it to someone else. Waiting 40min after being on the road for a day and then not getting the right room... can you pick a worse customer experience?
Next day they put us in another room... it was dark and dilapidated-looking compared to the first room. Finally we ended up in a third room that was even smaller (and cheaper) ... who knew the only rooms at TI that include a sofa bed are the small junior suites? They did spiff us with no resort fees and a free buffet and a buy 1 get 1 free drink, which brings this up a star.
Buffet: 2 stars. Okay but if it hadn't been comp'd I would have been really annoyed 'cause it wasn't an amazing value. Desserts, including cotton candy, were the best part.
Isla Tequila Bar: 3.5 stars, had margaritas with freshly squeezed lime juice but the flavor profile was off (too sour)
Kahunaville: 3 stars. Got the giant margarita in the souvenir glass... kind of like a very lightly tequila flavored slushy. Bartender was good.
Coffee shop: 3 stars for breakfast, 1 star for lunch.
Room: 2.5 stars
Service/checkin: 1 star
Gym: 5 stars, crowded but had lots of various equipment including 2 pilates reformers, multiple treadmills, recumbent bikes, arc trainers, lots of weight machines, free weights although in manly increments, stability balls, 3 med balls. One of the brightest spots of our stay.
Housekeeping: 4 stars
Based on general consensus, we will be trying a different hotel next trip.
