| - The boyfriend and I flew up to Pittsburgh, last minute, for the Steelers playoff game.
We usually stay in Marriott hotels, so this trip was no different. Apparently, we got really lucky getting our room though, when we were there, the Fairfield was undergoing some pretty serious remodeling and floors 2 and 3 were shut. The front desk guy told us they were 100% booked, but only 35% of rooms were full because so many were shut.
Everyone who works here seems to be really nice and helpful. They were apologetic about the remodeling and any inconvenience. The 4th floor had clearly not yet been remodeled a s it needed it. One of the lampshades in our room looked like it had been smashed against the wall a dozen times. There were no liners in the trash cans. The toilet wasn't a fan of flushing. The shower curtain was mounted so high, it was barely long enough to keep water in the tub.
I love that Fairfield has free breakfast, so we definitely took advantage of it. Mmmm waffles. I was a little bummed they had sausage patties and not bacon, though.
Overall, I'd stay here again, but only once the renovations are done. I'm positive the score would be higher after the remodel.
