  • For the first time in her life my friend was treated with disrespect and outright hostility in a business. The severe feeling of unwelcome and disregard for her experience by the security staff at Pattie's was disgusting. I understand that last night was St. Patrick's Day and it was packed but to me that is no excuse. My friend experienced a racial altercation in the bathroom to a degree that she couldn't stay quiet and still respect herself afterward. When she laid claim to the verbal and racial assaults the speaker became incredibly erratic to the point that security came over. The security guard stated twice that someone has to leave if this keeps up, all the while the girl keeps being erratic. My friend standing quietly behind me, not wishing for this to escalate not in her favor, was looked at like she should leave because she is the problem. I told the security guard that I agreed someone should go, but not my friend. Apparently he didn't agree even though she was calm and said not a word, while this other girl was erratic, loud and waiving her arms. When my friend walked out of sight of the security guard he states "the other one left we're fine just let it go" - which I then said "she didn't leave and she isn't leaving, she is right over there". This other girl continues to rant that she isn't racist because she "has a black friend." Regardless, everything breaks up and all that is left is this girl and 1 security guard - to whom she says "and that is why I always win". She walks up to him puts her arms around his neck and kisses him on the cheek. Awesome - justice has been done. Thanks Pattie's. as far as I'm concerned people of color will not be dealt a fair hand at your establishment and me and mine will not be back. Even your security staff of color are weak to a little blonde thing. Plus, smoking inside sucks.
