(This is about the Organizers - NOT the hard working Vendors!)
Coming off the heels of going to "Taste of Cave Creek" last month which was an EXCELLENT event with awesome food and very well organized......I'm gonna have to ditto darn near everything that has been said about this festival!! This was by far the WORST organized event we have ever been too. I feel extremely bad for the vendors, as I know those that participated worked their asses off. But a 2 day event with Saturday going from 11am - 8pm is just RIDICULOUS! By 4pm, pretty much every vendor had the look in their faces like they had been walking across the desert for a week without water and they were all plum out of food....
Our only saving grace, was that we bought our entry on Groupon for $29 which included 20 food tickets and 8 drink tickets.
The VIP wrist band = Worthless!!
At least half the vendors were not giving out samples
The Beer garden was pathetic
And the food selection/variety was WEAK
IF!....and I mean IF, Glendale decides to host this again, I sincerely hope that the hard working vendors provide some solid & well thought out feedback. Our attending next year will really depend on what changes we see implemented...
And frankly, after all the feedback, just from Yelp alone, I honestly think the Organizers should issue a statement to the public apologizing and outlining what they learned from this colossal failure. That may convince us to return, otherwise I am more inclined to steer everyone I know in the food world to stay far away from this event.
