| - If you are used to 5 star hotels this will be a disappointment. It is a 4 star hotel at best. Not luxurious or high end, but clean, well maintained and efficiently run. Mercedes at the front desk was wonderful, professional and made us feel at home!
We wanted to visit the Red Rocks after a week at the Palazzo on the strip. Initially we were disappointed with the size of the resort, the room and the lack of amenities. But, readjusting our perspective after being spoiled at the Palazzo, we realize this is a nice place to stay away from the strip. If I had family, or work, or a good reason to visit Vegas I would consider staying here versus a regular hotel chain.
Being that it is 30 degrees back home in Virginia, I wanted to sit by the pool ALL DAY. Unfortunately, it closes at 4pm. No one exceptions - but I persisted and we were allowed to sit in a cabana area until sunset. The pool is lovely. The cabanas are $500 a day - buy hey, you get a free fruit platter!!!! I was disappointed to hear the continual roar of traffic off the expressway... It reminded me you can never really get away.
