| - I've been seeing Marjie for over three years now and am so happy to have finally found a massage expert who "gets" my body. I've dealt with migraines since I was a little girl and occasionally sought out massages through my chiropractor, but after a bout of tendinitis and plantar fasciitis a few years ago, I realized I needed to find a pro.
In the past, I've looked for big, burly male massage therapists because female therapists would never go deep enough into my tissues to really address the knots and adhesions making me miserable. Let me tell you, Marjie is strong! She solicits regular feedback to ensure you feel comfortable with everything from the pressure level to the temperature in the room to the scent of her lotions and oils.
Marjie's real strength is that she treats you and your body as an individual with unique needs - there is no "default" massage. She knows how to listen to your tissues and follow a problem from the pain point to its root cause, just like your hairstylist knows NOT to chop off all your hair because you will look terrible, regardless of what you saw in that magazine. Her honed intuition and skillful approach make Marjie uniquely effective at what she does.
The other thing that I love about Marjie is that she is there to educate you about your tissues through her ample experience and knowledge. She isn't afraid to make recommendations for additional treatments, including things you do on your own or through another provider, so it's not about the upsell the way it is in some fancy spa environments. For example, she taught me a few stretches and exercises for my feet so that I can continue to wear my beloved high heels without pain (shhh don't tell her I said that).
With flexible hours and an understanding, customized approach, Marjie is in this business to help people find relief and live better lives. My only regret is that I didn't start seeing her sooner!
