rev:text	I have been attending here off and on for maybe 6 years. It's a neat experience to attend Meeting for Worship and other activities here, the building is architecturally interesting and comfy and has a cute patio and yard in back. The people are friendly, welcoming and diverse. There is no set creed for our type of Quakerism, so you mostly get to work out your own religious views in the way you feel suits you best and the way that speaks to your own view of things. Generally, there is a big focus on peacemaking, simplicity, equality, and concern and care for all people in the world. After Meeting there is Hospitality Time (tasty treats, snacks, fruit and veg platters, free trade coffee, et cetera) and that's when everyone meets and chats. They have a library that anyone can borrow from, to learn more about Quaker beliefs, history, and viewpoints, as well as other various topics of concern, like environmentalism. Some Quakers consider themselves Christians, but others do not. A few borrow some of their traditions and ways of thinking from Buddhism and other faiths. Some people attend Quaker Meeting but also attend Jewish Synagogue, or a UU church, or other worship community. Anyhow, it is something different, come check it out some Sunday morning if you would like to. The main Meeting for Worship starts promptly at 10:30 a.m. so it is best to arrive at least 5 minutes earlier than that. There is a small parking lot, and the public bus also goes past (I think the #75 route does directly to it, and many other Oakland busses will get you pretty close, too, so there are many bus route options).
