  • Worth a visit while in Pittsburgh. If you are visiting Pittsburgh then you will want to make a trip to Phipps. Phipps is a very nice conservatory that is well planned and maintained. It has a nice variety of plants all year and beautiful outdoor gardens. Phipps does host private events so there are many times during the warmer weather when the outdoor gardens are closed to the public. The Christmas lights that are on display in the outdoor gardens during the month of December are unique and worth seeing. It doesn't take long to go through the entire conservatory. There is free parking but it is limited. The cafe is nice, but it has a limited menu and only offers organic foods and caters to the more health conscience consumers. Be sure to take your camera. Great place to visit for the entire family and well worth the admission price.
