  • I have Medicaid, the type of insurance I have has $1000 in emergency dental coverage. April 11th I call my insurance company and get dentists I am able to visit I was given this company I call and get an April 12th appointment. I was relieved I was gonna get my tooth pain taken care of. I arrive fill out my paper work, wait a little bit cause I got there early so that was no issue. Get called back and get my X-ray. Dentist comes in about 10 minutes later (with latex gloves on which I'm allergic to latex) tells me I need 2 teeth pulled and walks out. The MA said it will take 2 weeks to get approval from Medicaid (which they said is standard on all cases with Medicaid). I get prescriptions for Tylenol #3 and antibiotics. April 20th I call to check up on my approval and I'm told for true procedures that are emergencies no prior authorization is needed. One of the teeth that I need pulled is not an emergency, I was never given an opinion of pulling the tooth that is causing me pain that day and finding out if I can get approval for the other tooth, like every other dentist I've been too. I spent close to 2.5 hours on the phone getting this figured out today (April 20th) I have an appointment on April 26th to get my tooth pulled, maybe both. Having tooth pain is terrible and somedays the pain is so bad I can do nothing but lay in bed and cry (even with pain medication given to me). My emergency dental need was not taken care the day I came in. After all my calls I do call them and they could not get me in till May 1st. I ask to speak to the manager and she get me in April 26th telling me she is double booking the doctor. I will update this review after my procedure on the 26th.
