It is with immense regret that I give 4 Paws a one-star rating, as I had been a loyal customer for several years, and had recommended them to many friends. But that ended today and I can safely say I will not return.
I bought a bag of cat treats as a substitute variety for my cat, as earlier in the week 4 Paws was out of stock. My cat did not like the alternative treats but the manufacturer listed a refund, so I popped in for a receipt since I was in the neighborhood. The owner proceeded to yell at me, and questioned why I was so intent on getting the cost of the treats back ($5). From my perspective as well as the perspective of the other employee present, the owner was grossly overreacting and being belligerent to someone who just wanted to make good on a company's return policy.
When the other employee felt necessary to come out to my car and profusely apologize, it sunk in how horrible an experience that just was for both of us. I understand that all stores have limits to return policies but that's not what for discussion here. What is, though, is the idea that it's somehow okay for a shop owner to belittle and yell at a customer over something so trivial as a convenient means of making good on a product's guarantee.
