This place is ok but I think it's overrated and overpriced. We ordered the guacamole, the Mexican corn, and some tacos. Firstly with the guacamole they make it table side which some people might think is cool however I think it's awkward and insufficient. We didn't realize it was table side made so when the girl came over and just started going to town mashing the avocados it was really awkward and my friends and I didn't know whether to watch or look away. Also once you get the guacamole we found about a 1/4 of the avocado that she missed while mashing. Not saying this is her fault but I just think everyone would be more comfortable with guacamole that's prepared in the kitchen properly. The Mexican corn was nice and I liked how they gave the option of ordering it on the cob or in a cup, we opted for cup. The tacos were a bit underwhelming. We had the shrimp tacos which were really small and looked like they were probably Presidents Choice frozen shrimp. We also ordered the pork tacos that were ok. Overall the food was very overpriced and I still left hungry. I don't think this is the best Mexican in Toronto and the only redeeming quality of this restaurant is the nice, large outdoor patio. Please El Catrin, do better.
