| - We had a groupon for this and we went here as a group of 4. There were only 2 other people joining us so the group was nice and small.
Let me just start off by saying that this is well worth doing even if you don't have a groupon. It was really a unique experience.
As a previous reviewer mentioned, the location is not in a big field outdoors but rather in an indoor range in an industrial complex.
While this may not conjure up visions of stealth-hunting through the forest, it actually is a much better environment to learn in.
This stuff is hard!
The last thing you want is to have wind play a factor while trying to get the basics down.
Also, by being indoors you know that your lesson won't get cancelled due to weather.
Dan and Connor were awesome.
They were very patient and observant as to what each person was doing and they gave their instruction individually on what each of us should be doing differently.
You definitely use muscles that have been on vacation for a very long time and you also activate an awareness of your whole body that you normally don't tap into. There are so many little factors in your body's positioning of the feet, arms, shoulders, spine, and even your perlicue and philtrum, that affect the flight of your arrow. Mastering all of this in a single 2 hr lesson is impossible, although Dan and Connor teach you enough to get a few really good shots into the target!
The time just flies by and when you leave, you are definitely itching to go back and skewer a few more pieces of paper.
Maybe you won't pick up archery as your next hobby, but you will never forget the experience and the fun you had!
