  • I just came through Vegas for EDC weekend. I needed a haircut to look my best and made the mistake of visiting a very expensive salon on the strip. By the end of the haircut I realized two things: One, I just paid $75 bucks to be follically abused and two, I needed a hat. I had seen a video posted of Cliff's place and decided it was a long shot but one I was willing to take. It was the best decision of my trip. I called prior to my arrival and explained my situation and was told to just come on in. A $25 dollar cab ride took me to his shop. I got there and the man himself told me to sit in the chair as he went about tidying things up. I realized that this wasn't your spick and span salon, this was a barber shop in the true fashion. So, if you demand an immaculate environment, you need to change your outlook because your tastes are robbing you of a wide world of experiences and possibilities. He took a look at my head and said "yep I see everything that she did wrong" and with that went to town. He was rough with the clippers, he was a little preoccupied with fathers day, he was tired but goddamnit can he cut hair. I liked this guy, I don't mean to get preachy but it's a great thing to meet someone who is doing what they were meant to do. He connected with me as a person first and from there saved my head from embarrassment. This is the best haircut I have ever gotten. Some d-baggy looking frat bros came in asking for razor fades and he told he doesn't do that and thanks for coming, it was awesome. "I don't have time for that shit" you gotta get in there and they take 30 minutes. I have no doubt in my mind that he can deliver a razor fade to rival the best, he just wasn't feeling up to their attitudes. He got to a certain place with the cut and said, we can leave it here or you can take it up higher. The previous cut left very little to work with, so I said I'll trust you on this one. He slapped some palmade in my hair and said ok. About 30 seconds later he said hold on, and grabbed the scissors and went back to cutting. "That was going to bug me" At the end of the cut I was so relieved. He saved the day. I bought some palmade and he said just give me whatever for the cut. I was floored. I asked what his rate was and he told me $20! I gave him $25 but would have given him more if I wasn't afraid of insulting the guy and coming off as a weirdo, to him it wasn't magic, it was just another haircut. I can wax on but it's already pretty long. I am not making up this part, walking out of the Cosmo a couple hours later a stunning girl grabbed me by the arm and told me she loved my haircut, this doesn't happen in real life, I spent the next 36 hours with her. This is the place to go if you are a man, want a haircut, and can treat a person with respect and allow them to practice their craft. You will not be disappointed.
