In April I had a leak detection on my house. Water was found to be under the tile by the toilet. I was advised this is something that happens when toilets need a new wax seal. I called my warranty company AHS to have them send someone out to install a new wax ring. AMPM plumbing came out on 5/21/15. A man that seemed a little new and young came out. Told me his name is WILL. He lifted up my toilet and told me that the flange was broke and that I had weeds in my pipes. There were so many weeds that they fused with poop and had caused my 3 inch pipe to close to a 1 inch opening. He called AHS back to see what was covered. AHS told us both that Roots are not covered, for him to put it back like he found it.
Will then calls his office, and comes back with a receipt/ estimate. I go to give him my 75 dollar service fee. He tells me he only needs 60 dollars. Says that they only charge 60 dollars for labor so thats all he needs for coming out and they will mark the service fee as paid. I give him the 60 bucks and he leaves. I then look through this estimate/ receipt and I see that it says Service Fee 75 dollars Unpaid. I call the company and explain that there guy just took 60 bucks from me. Told me it was for the service fee and took off yet the receipt that I got says the service fee is unpaid. I asked them to please send the driver back since he had only left a couple minutes ago. I was told not to worry they put me on hold, came back said they contacted Will. Not to worry he wrote up the estimate before taking my money and they would correct it so I wouldn't owe anything else.
Since then I hired another plumber that came out and looked at the toilet. Determined the roots and poop wall that supposedly was in my pipe was nothing more then wax bulid up from the previous wear from the old wax ring that was on the toilet. The guy pulled the stuff right up and out of the pipe and put it in a trash can again confirming no Roots in the pipes. Secondly the Flange was broke and does need to be replaced, but it was not broke by roots, but by age and standard deterioration. The flange was originally put down in 1983.
On 6/21/15 I receive a bill from AHS for 75 dollars. They stated the service fee was not paid. I am now stuck in an investigation while AHS determines Why they only charged me 60 instead of 75. Where that 60 dollars went to, and why I was charged it in the first place. Basically saying I have to prove that I gave someone money. Looking at the other reviews on here, this sounds like a scam.
