I had been wanting to try this place really badly - as a DDD restaurant and the fact that there is almost always a line out the door, it seemed like a solid choice.
My boyfriend and I went at about 1:45p on a Saturday afternoon and it was only a 10min wait. Not too shabby!
We loved the lemon grilled tuna tacos, original margarita, and queso that we split. The queso almost tasted like a beer cheese, just had a more savory flavor than I'm used to I guess. The margarita was really interesting, you'd get the typical citrus/sour mix flavors at first then it had a really sweet after taste - I'm pretty sure I couldn't drink more than two without getting a massive hangover. And the tacos were out of this world - definitely the star of the show - and there were a handful of other types we want to try in the future that I'm confident are equally as good.
My only qualms are:
(1) the chips and salsa they serve the table are a unique twist. Instead of making a standard tomato based salsa they serve the tortillas with a corn salsa. This is just a personal preference, but I don't want corn salsa (with close to nothing else but corn in it) with corn chips. Hence the queso move...
(2) our server missed part of our order. Granted it was loud, I mumble, and one order of tacos plus a side plus queso was enough to fill us up. But still, he wrote down the first and third things I ordered. Confused on what happened there in the middle.
BUT, we will definitely be back!
