I picked up a new pair of glasses for my mom at Nationwide Vision a couple of months ago. When she rolled over them with her wheelchair last weekend, I gave Nationwide a call and they said they couldn't help, but they gave me All-American's name and suggested I give them a call. All-American is maybe a block away from Nationwide- right by Leisureworld.
Because I was in the area already, I walked into All-American without calling or scheduling anything. Michael was working and took a look at my mom's glasses. He said he could do the repair in about 30 minutes. It wasn't too serious, IMO. The metal hinge had popped out of the plastic frame and some of the plastic was broken.
Michael reset the hinge and added new plastic. He finished the work in maybe 20 minutes or so while I waited. The repair work is totally undetectable- the glasses are as good as new and my mom is thrilled. The repair was cheap (somewhere in the $30-40 range) and came with a guarantee.
I should also add that, a lot of the time when you go into smaller businesses like this, you feel like you're intruding and the employee is rather "meh." Visiting All-American wasn't like that at all. I was the only one in there at the time and Michael was personable and friendly. He seemed to genuinely care about the work he did and was professional. I'm sure we'll need their services again later and I'll be holding onto his card. I didn't even know places like this existed, so I'm really glad Nationwide tipped me off and that All-American did such a good job. Thank you!!
