I went in to Chapman today to see about getting in a new vehicle and trading in my current vehicle I'm leasing. A salesman by the name of Omar was the one assisting me. However, when it came time for him to give me options on how he could assist he asked if I had GAP insurance and then recommended that in order to get out of my current vehicle loan that I should "park your car by the stratosphere for a couple of nights. That way it gets stolen or totaled and you can have the insurance pay it off". I was in shock that a "reputable" company would suggestion such a thing as defrauding an insurance company in order to do business with them. I'm not sure if that's how Chapman operates as a whole or it's just this associate. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
