I'm rating the rides here, and not the hotel. I'd say that if you go to Vegas, you have to ride the totally terrifying rides at the top of the Stratosphere. I couldn't even ride the one that dropped you over the edge because I'm too much of a weeny and afraid of falling. I did ride the one that shoots you upward and drops you down (Stratosphere) and the one that is a larger, scarier version of the carnival swings that spins you over Vegas. The spinning one was my favorite because there was something magical and surreal about it. It was more thrilling than scary. But some of my friends definitely thought that the spinning one was the hardest to stomach.
They will not let you bring in your purses, shopping bags, or anything else that could fly off on the rides -- for good reason.
Oh, and while you're waiting for your friends to get themselves together and get over to the rides, there's an arcade on the floor where you buy tickets. If you like arcade games, it's pretty easy to rack up a lot of tickets and win some good prizes. My sister won a giant stuffed pig. We named him Statospig. He rules.
