  • This was my first time at this shop. In my experience, having an appointment meant that the station would be prepared when I arrived. Having an appointment seemed irrelevant, because I signed in just like a walk-in would. The shop assistant prepared my pedicure station, and about 5-7 minutes later my nail technician came over. The procedure and technique of the pedicure was great, the products were okay (they seemed to be on the cheap side). My second service was an overlay. I have very short nails (very little free edge). A standard overlay with acrylic was $26; however I had planned on using pink acrylic for a more natural look. It would have been $33, which I didn't think was an appropriate price, so I went with the standard acrylic. The technician kept trying to force the gel nails on me (they were $28), after I said no several times, she still pulled out the gel product, and I had to again state that I wanted acrylic. It hasn't been a full 48 hours since I had my nails done, and I'm already experiencing lifting in the acrylic at the base of my nails. However, I did appreciate the fact that she did not nick my cuticles with the drill; I have experienced that on several occasions in other shops. When I went to the salons website, it clearly stated they offered a 10% student discount with student ID. When I told this to the cashier, the technician working next to the register stated that they didn't offer that discount. When I pulled up the website and showed him, he said the discount was for parties of four. However, the information read "We offer 10% student discount with student ID. We also offer 10% group discount for parties of 4 and up." When I showed him that these were two separate sentences he then said, I had to pay with cash to receive the discount (my debit card was already in my hand). He continues to say that he already took $1 off the overlay service (this is not something I had asked for, he told me it was taken off when I stepped up to the register; I don't know if this was a discount for a special they were running, or if the nail technician had just provided me the incorrect price) and could not discount my services any further. Overall it was a decent experience; I've definitely had way worse, but nothing necessarily made this experience stand out amongst others. I probably won't return.
