  • We ate here some time ago and enjoyed it, so I talked my husband into returning for breakfast today--what a mistake. We were promptly seated on the patio and drink orders were taken fairly quickly. I asked for lemon in my ice water, but I received water, a small amount of ice, and no lemon. It took one additional request to get the lemon and two additional requests to get more ice. My husband's diet soda was served in a can, so no refills available. The breakfast menu was not very extensive, but several items sounded tasty. We ordered two entrees to share--a designer omelet and bacon pancakes. It took quite a while for the food to be served. We had to request another plate so that we could share, the syrup for the pancakes was cold, the only available sauce was red Cholula and tabasco (no green bottled sauce), and the only available jelly was strawberry flavored. Although the pancakes were piping hot, my half of the omelet and my portion of the hash browns were lukewarm. In addition, the hash browns were mushy and flavorless. I called someone to the table (possibly a manager?) who seemed annoyed that I was mentioning the cold food, but she offered to reheat my portions. After that, I sat and waited and waited and waited for my plate to return. When I finally saw the employee again, I told her I was still waiting for my food to be returned and she said threw it away and took it off our bill because she assumed, apparently from my nonverbal communication, that I did not want it. At no time did I SAY that I wanted her to toss it in the garbage, but she took it upon herself to ASSUME that was the best solution. That really bothers me because we are meticulous about never wasting food and it would have been very simple for her to reheat the cold portions. Needless to say, I left hungry, frustrated, astonished, and certain I will never return to this restaurant. P.S.--my husband had no complaints about the food, but he, too, was flabbergasted that my food was thrown into the trash.
