| - My wife and I bought a Hyundai Sante Fe Sport on 3/1/2015. Did some research over the internet and Autonation provided me with very specific pricing details in advance so I felt I had a good idea of how much we'd be paying for different option packages. Our salesman was John (Johnny). He has a very laid back approach, was very knowledgeable, did not try to upsell us or tell us what options we should or shouldn't buy (unlike some other dealers). He gave us private time to discuss our decision. We felt there was no pressure at all. He gave us internet/Costco fleet pricing, so it's a pretty straightforward deal. If you are a person who dreads the car buying experience, I would suggest calling Johnny and ask for an appointment with him. I just can't imagine that anyone could not like this guy or have a bad experience with him.
After choosing a vehicle, I always dread talking to the finance guy. We weren't financing, but when it comes time for payment, you still have to talk to these guys. Past couple of vehicles I've really gotten the hard sell on the warranty. Well, we did hear the whole sales pitch from Brent. We'd decline, he'd counter, but it went quickly and after a couple minutes, he politely accepted the fact that we didn't want a warranty. He really wasn't that bad about it. I guess I just had a preconceived notion that it was going to be a nightmare based on past experience, but he was actually pretty good about it.
So far I'm extremely pleased with our car buying experience. I hope their servcie department does as well, but I'll leave that review for when that time comes.
