| - This was my first time staying in Planet Hollywood and I booked our hotel because the event we were attending was located in Planet Hollywood. I booked through Expedia and got a solid deal on a 2 queen size bed newly renovated room for 2 nights. Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11pm and if you want to check in early it's an additional minimum of $20 charge (like most hotels on the strip) but, you can drop your bags off and have them hold it for you so you can go out exploring until 4pm and make sure you don't lose your ticket because once you get your room you call the number on the bottom of the ticket and the bell boy will bring your luggage right up to your room.
When we checked in the guy who checked me in was speedy and fast and failed to mention some crucial information that made me end up being charged more when it came down for me to check out 3 days later. He failed to mention how much the resort fee per night was ($40/night that pays for WiFi, Gym, and calls from the hotel phone) and how many devices are allowed to be on the wifi (which was major). he ran though on how to connect to the Wifi very quickly, everything was already prepaid, and told us where the elevator was to get to our room and that was it. You're only allowed to have 2 devices connected to Planet Hollywood's wifi any more and you will be charged $15 for each device that is connected after the two (which we didn't know, maybe it was on the card holder and i didn't read it, maybe not). and when it was time to check out I was slapped with an extra $110 bill (basically another nights stay)
The room was clean and we didn't spend the extra $50 for a nice view. You have a tub, shower, a separate toilet with it's own lock and a refrigerator, nothing too fancy. The beds were really comfortable but roominess was a bit tight if you have more than 5 people hanging out. The pool area is nice with two bars and two large pools. One pool to the left is more of a party area with DJ's and everything while the other is more of a family friendly area, I guess. I'd probably wouldn't stay here again though as i feel you can get better bang for the buck at other hotels on the strip.
My favorite spot to go while in the Planet Hollywood side of the strip is Earls Sandwiches that always hits the spot when you're super drunk and need a little munchie meal before you pass out. Also, near the ABC store (which is always great) there's a bar (next to the entrance) and they have beer pong tables you can rent out and play with your friends. If you're a first timer or into large slushy drink then you have to stop by this Fat Tuesday.
