You know there are those days when you are craving for a good brunch after kayaking with friends and The Good Fork has one hour waiting list for a table? Yea... so on those days you go to something that's close by and open for groups like a very empty Dark Horse pub.
Emptiness should be a good indicator.... of what to expect.
But this was over and above annoying experience. I'm cool when the waiter is not smiling or trying to be super friendly and chatty but I don't accept it when I'm being treated as a nuisance in someone's day.
Our waiter had so much attitude and so many comments about our orders that it felt he would want us to be anywhere but there annoying him with our orders.
There were two vegetarians in our group and since the menu doesn't really have veg options (how is that even possible in Toronto??) we had to ask for adjustments to the available menu items. That was taken as if we are asking for impossible things or he is giving us a super favour by adjusting the menu for us. There were other comments along the same lines too. Tip you ask? There was none.
Food? I had eggs florentine that were adjusted to be vegetarian - salmon was replaced by some avocado sauce instead of simple avocado slices as I requested. Hollandaise sauce wasn't the freshest. And the portions were tiny.
I might have liked food better if the service was friendlier, as I was super not impressed by our brunch by the time the food arrived.
But guess what? I will probably not be coming back here anytime soon or suggesting friends to come here.
