  • I used to go to Rita's in the 90's. It was then a very authentic experience, right down to the superb food and the sometimes inability of staff to speak or understand English. A few weeks ago, wanting to show a visitor from L.A. that we have great Mexican food in Phoenix, we went to Rita's. Whenever it changed...it was not for the better. The food was thoroughly Americanized--salsas without bite, stale chips, bland cheesy sauces and dshes. An embarrassment
