  • I have never written a review before but this experience has made me wish there were more accurate reviews of this place. If you want a zumba class that turns the lights WAY down, gives you no interaction from the instructors, gives you an unsafe, slippery concrete floor to dance on, and plays NOTHING but Latin zumba music, this is the place for you.! It took me 2 weeks to get up the courage to go to zumba by myself. (It's hard to go workout somewhere new without a friend.) I was greeted by a lady at the desk that barely spoke english. She handed me her cellphone so the instructor could tell me she was running late. The class started late, and the warmup song lasted 45 seconds. Then straight into nothing but Latin style zumba. I understand that zumba is HIGHLY influenced by Latin music and dances. With that in mind zumba is ALSO supposed to have a mix of hip hop and reggaeton. Not that I don't enjoy Latin dance and music, but I went to Zumba for the mixture of genres zumba includes in 1 workout. Without a SINGLE song that I recognized or understood, I got bored very quickly. The instructors gave no instruction. They faced away from the class looking in the mirror at their own dance moves and didn't seem to care much about the workout of the group. I could have popped in the zumba DVD if I wanted no interaction. I went to a zumba CLASS for INSTRUCTION. The concrete floors that they are dancing on will DESTROY their knees faster then they seem to care. Also it was FAR too slippery to safely do PROPER zumba moves without straining your body so as not to slip. It feels like the entire floor was coated with baby powder. If I focused on the workout instead of my footing I would have fell. It caused me to move in ways that were not proper for a zumba workout. Now, The prices that they have are great if this is the zumba class for you, but if you are looking for authentic zumba with a FUN OUTGOING environment, OR if you don't speak Spanish, then you are better off crossing the street to Fatcat Studio like I did. Prices may be a bit higher but you get what you pay for. With that being said I will not be returning to HotFitness Studio nor will I recommend it to anyone. I had a terrible experience.
