  • The past couple of years I have developed a hobby of checking out different tea rooms across NEO with my friends. We even make sure to do it proper and wear fancy hats! That is why with all of the places I have been I can say that I have experienced better than Miss Mollies. First it should be noted this tea room is located inside a plaza not the usual Victorian house. This set up makes it much louder inside than we are used to. Reminded us of a Cracker Barrel with being so open and having a boutique in the front. We made a reservation for noon but stood in line for 15 minutes waiting to be greeted and seated because it appeared they weren't prepared? Or understaffed? Or disorganized? I'm not sure, all I know is there was a room full of empty tables yet the lady at the front desk kept looking at her seating chart with a confused look on her face. Once seated we had a negative experience with our waitress. She apparently had a large party that came in after us and thus treated us like we were a hassle/not important enough to serve properly. We are ladies who want to chat and enjoy our time there so why was it such a big deal to get all of our tea orders before we placed the food orders? Our waters were never refilled. There was a hair in the jam for my scone. She'd drop things off then be gone before you could say anything. Just not pleasant. Now I did enjoy the food. I got the chicken salad puff with a side of cucumber salad and a small slice of lemon cake. The apricot scones were good too. The tea though was not very strong, barely any flavor. I will probably not be back as there are better tea parlors, but if you're a fan of tea parties you should still check it out and form your own opinion. You might have a better experience than we did.
