I should start off with this warning: If you're into urban action, this probably isn't the place for you. And really, why are you even looking at expansive resorts out in the burbs?
Even though I did have to fly into Phoenix last week to cover a convention Downtown, our party stayed here for various reasons. Fortunately, the resort is close to the 101 & 51 Freeways. And after a busy day running around Downtown PHX, it does feel great to "come home" to a very spacious suite with amazing mountain views and gorgeous pools nearby.
Oh yes, and my party stayed in a two bedroom suite that had plenty of room for all three of us. The kitchen was fully stocked. The bathrooms were fully equipped. The three TVs were all hooked up for DirecTV. And while my colleagues thought their bed was too firm, I slept just fine in mine.
Again, don't bother looking here if you want something more "in the city" and closer to nightlife. But if you're looking for a place that offers plenty of R&R, the Canyon Villas may just be what the doctor ordered.
