  • During my first trip to Pittsburgh, we didn't make it up the Duquesne Incline. What a mistake! `The second time around, we had a couple of hours to kill before going to the airport and it was the perfect excursion. What's to know? Well, it's cash only and a roundtrip journey costs $5 per person. You pay at the bottom. We didn't see an ATM nor a bathroom down there and the staff wasn't too eager to explain what was happening to us tourists. Long story short, be prepared. Besides that, we didn't wait more than ten minutes to board the cable car and the ride isn't long to the top. It's also surprisingly steady despite its age. When you get up there, there's a lot of info on Pittsburgh history and cable cars, in general. Come on a clear day to take advantage of the amazing view of downtown, the river, Heinz Field, and more! It was pretty incredible. There are also a few restaurants at the top that let you take in the view some more before heading back down. All in all, definitely a must when visiting Pittsburgh!
