  • The service department is a joke. My husband is in the military and a mechanic for fighter jets. He can fix anything. However, we took my 2013 Ford Edge in to replace 2 factory issues that should have been free or at least covered under Ford warranty: a backward seatbelt and the door ajar light would not turn off, causing the dome light to stay on while driving. (A typical Ford door error!) They kept my car for a week, saying the seatbelt was fixed but the warranty didn't fix the door ajar problem. We decided to purchase the $250 part for my husband to fix it himself. They didn't plan for that. When I came to pick it up, they kept the driver door open so I would get in without touching the handle because it was completely pulled out of the door then set in the hole to look normal!!! We called the service manager over and we could tell he knew about the issue and immediately agreed they would fix it. Another week of supposedly fixing my door handle, they called me to say the engine light was on. They told me it would be $100 to run the diagnostic. (The same diagnostic Auto Zone does for free.) They speculated it was something my warranty would fix. It wasn't and they wanted to charge me over $400 to drop the gas tank, etc, etc. I didn't authorize any work, I just wanted to pick up my car with a door handle. A few days later they came up with a story saying they ordered the wrong replacement part. Then 3 days later, it had to be painted. When I finally got it back, 17 days later, it was dented, scratched and something was wrong with the AC that wasn't wrong w the AC before... A month later, my AC is totally broken, we've noticed that the seatbelt is still backwards, they also broke some covers on the back seat and last night my husband took 20 mins to fix the $30 part they said would take days and over $400 to fix. I speculate the manager is going to reply here saying he's sorry, etc, etc. Funny now that I've posted online but he didn't seem in too much of a hurry to answer our calls while this was happening. I tried calling him several times in the 17 days that my car was there. This place is shady. Update: took my car to have the AC fixed. A hose was damaged in the door! The door with the handle that Berge Ford broke. Ridiculous.
