  • I have been a JC Penney shopper for years, mainly online purchases. I've been in this Home Store several times in the past (years ago) and they accommodated the shopper with small shopping carts. Let's face it, the items in the Home Store are more on the bulky size and a cart is necessary, especially if you have quite a few things to buy. I went in the store this morning to buy bath towels, bath rug, sheets, and looked for a cart as soon as I went in. In fact, there weren't any 'shopping' cart/bag items to be seen. Needless to say, I was happy my daughter was with me to carry some of the merchandise to the checkout counter. I asked 'Why don't you have shopping carts' because I wanted to pick up a few more things but there was NO WAY I could physically handle it all. The clerk (who was nice) said that they had carts before, but everyone of them were stolen and they 'cost us $250.00 a pop.' Then she pointed out that there were some dragging-on-the-ground type bags, and pointed towards the furniture department. My first thought was "Why are these bags hidden away from entering the store?" Shopping for more than one item in this store is difficult for an abled body person, but when you have MS and RA, it's impossible. I'll shop at Kohl's from now on.
