  • Dumbest rules out of any bank I have ever dealt with. They stopped supporting military so I closed my account. 6 months later they try to get me to come back saying they changed their mind because too many people complained, YOU THINK??? Well I did not change my mind. Now I want to put money in my daughters account, I did not have the account number. They said without the account number they cannot look up the account because if they get it wrong which they have done in the past they cannot take it out of the wrong persons account. My response was ok, I can understand maybe two people having identical names, but I can verify the address she has on the account as well as her social security number. This is where they went down hill in my book FOREVER... We are not allowed to look up accounts by social security number because of the privacy act? Are you kidding me???? My credit union always looks my account up by social security number. Also, I have never had Chase or Bank of America tell me they cannot look an account up by name and verify it with an address. So if this is not bad enough, here comes the branch manager to put the STUPID on the cake. We cannot accept the money without the account number because we don't know if you are authorized to put money in the account. My Lewis Black impression came out...(head moving back and forth, lips spitting cherries)...WHAT??? You are telling me I cannot deposit money into my child's account without the account number because you don't know if I have her authorization to deposit money into her acccount. In her sincerest way she looked at me and said that is correct...ok now you people are just dumb, I am sorry. I explained all this to my daughter who lives in California and she said Wells Fargo out there does not have any of these rules. Her response is it must just be Nevada. So if you are looking for a job with a company who will tell you all the ways you CANNOT provide Customer Service, Wells Fargo is the place for you.
