  • This place has given me some great cuts! The stylists working here are always smiling and greet you effusively when you walk in. I always feel like a cherished client and have never had a bad time there. The problem is that some of their stylists change quite often, and of course, it's the ones I frequent. Oh God, maybe it's me making them leave... I'm kidding. Usually they return to Japan or they change salons. A couple of the staff have been there for the few years I've been patronising the salon. Don't get me wrong, I love each stylist I've worked with. They're very patient and even help make suggestions if you walk in there with no clue of what style you want. Not that I am that client, of course (cough, cough). Let's be honest--I'm tearfully boring. I get the same amount trimmed off each time because I'm scarily attached to my long hair. In my defence, when you're the type of girl whose hair grows more outward than downward due to puffy, thick hair, you develop a pretty serious relationship with it when it requires so much time and maintenance. I will note, however, that some of their stylists do not have as good a command of the English language as others, so try to bring a few pictures of what you want so that it's better explained and there is less of a chance of miscommunication. They do better with more popular East Asian than Western hairstyles, so take care! The salon is pretty small with four chairs and one wash station, so be prepared to be turned away with the offer to make a future scheduled appointment! Sometimes you will have to wait past your scheduled time, but that's not their fault. Sometimes delays out of their control happen due to clients being late or hair emergencies because someone is crying that their hair didn't turn the exact shade they wanted it to even though they warned her that it might not because her hair was a very red tone underneath the brown.
