| - I have been taking my dog here since the day it opened and I am a huge supporter of the Hydrant Club. I have never had any concerns about safety, the hours, the staff ratio, the facility, the philosophy or the training for me and my dogs. I now have a second dog here and send them four days a week. I have seen this business grow over the year it's been open and Cathy and her staff should be very proud of what they accomplished. I have visited dozens of facilities up and down the west coast, including Las Vegas and none of them compare. A few specifics worth noting:
Acute attention to each dog's needs and behavioral stability - Every dog is screened and more importantly all dogs are constantly evaluated as new dogs are introduced. My dog became a bit shy as the pack expanded. Cathy and I worked together to adjust his days and on occasion when he seemed a bit off she would bring him to the office area for some quiet time. My second dog has a significant bath aversion and one of the staff has taken on the task to help us desensitize her and collaborate with me on a strategy. No where else have I witnessed that kind of attention to the nuances of the pack and to individual dogs.
Staff ratio - As attendance has ebbed and flowed the owner, Cathy Brooks, has done an amazing job of ensuring the right ratio is met to suit the needs of the pack. when and if the number of staff on hand needs to be adjusted, it is. The hours are established for pick up and drop off to ensure that the appropriate number of staff is always available and that disruption to the pack is minimized. Having a solid communication plan, emergency procedures and a connected team of employees who are open, honest, and consistently seeking to improve action/reactions to any event is more important than anything else and has made me feel very confident in the team.
Boarding - there is no one more freaked out about leaving their fur-child than I am. I was finally able to relax for the first time on any vacation i have ever taken while being a pet mom. I love the space, i love that there is a seamless transition from inside to outside. I know they are in good hands.
My dogs come home happy, relaxed and tired in the best way possible. As a new dog mom you won't find anyone more diligent than me in ensuring my dogs are loved and cared for when they aren't with me. I have no hesitation in continuing my relationship with the Hydrant Club for as long as I live here and hope others discover this little gem in downtown Las Vegas.
