We're torn on this place because it defies description in a few ways.
We were adulting poorly and decided to have ice cream for dinner. We'd seen numerous people in the area walking around with monstrous, ornate ice cream cones. We had to at least try it.
The line was very long the first two times we'd walked past it, but we kind of made our way here before rush hour. Shorter line.
We tried to order the strawberry shortcake, but that machine was down so we ordered the Red Velvet one at the top of the pimped menu instead.
It was...strangely compelling. Neither of us was terribly hungry. I like sweets, but my wife avoids them as a general practice. And yet. We. Ate. It. All.
I wish I could devise an explanation. The ice cream is the secret - it was neither overly sweet or overly cold. It was also otherworldly creamy in a way we could not figure. I thought I would be having a conniption fit from the sugar rush, but that did not come to pass. For the strangely indescribable ice cream and the fact that we inexplicably finished it, this goes from 3 to 4 stars.
