  • It's true! It's all true! For quite some time now, I've been hearing and reading about how great the food at Lotus of Siam is. How it's one of the best Thai restaurants in the country. And, well... I tend to agree. Everything I have had at LoS has been amazing. The food here is delicious, and, as far as I know, pretty authentic. They're pretty heavy handed with the fresh chilies, that slight sweet tamarind flavor that I enjoy in Thai food is prevalent and not too sweet/overpowering like with many lesser places. That fresh, sourness from the citrus in their soups. I'm not sure I've actually had better Thai cuisine, anywhere. The dining room is... Bland and feels barren to me, with how large and white the space is, and how few adornments I can remember seeing, after you get through the waiting area (which is decorated with all sorts of awards and stuff, telling you how good the restaurant is, as if you, an avid yelper wouldn't already know). Perhaps my memory fails me here, though. They do have a beautiful wine room behind glass as, what I guess, I would consider the centerpiece of the dining area. The service is straight forward. Very friendly. Not a finer level of service, but I don't expect white glove service with Thai cuisine. Minus one star for the pothole riddled parking lot, in the hovel of a strip mall, that they're located in. Nothing that they can really control, but, it's hard to find, and I feel slightly uncomfortable the few times I've been there.
