I was expecting more out of this place based on it's rating, but alas I'm leaving with $82 worth of disappointment for brunch to 2 people. While the plating was on point, the food was generally bland. To start, we ordered the Blood Mary flight and some watermelon-tequila drink. The flight was unexciting, mediocre, and all tasted the same. The watermelon drink was ok, but not we'll balanced. Next, for appetizers we ordered the devilled eggs (bland and basic) and crab cakes (overcooked). Finally, for entrees we ordered the pecan crusted trout and chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles was terrible. The chicken was small and dried out and the flavor didn't even compensate. The best thing we had here was the pecan crusted trout. It was well-cooked and the peach chutney on top was a nice compliment.
Overall, I won't be returning if I find myself back in Charlotte.
