Came to Cien Agaves as part of a group lunch recently. Since they market themselves as the best tacos + margs in AZ, I was super intrigued to try them out. Thank goodness for my friends who get us together to try all these new-to-us places in the Valley!
They're in a cute + festive building in Old Town that is definitely reminiscent of the Wild West. I give them props for that. I left wishing I could give them props to their food + margs... there was a lot desired from them. Perhaps another visit is in order? ::shrug::
The servers were super kind since they had our group to deal with. By the time I arrived mostly everyone had ordered so they went thru the menu, their suggestions with me. I went with the highly-recommended AZ Prickly Pear Marg. It's so pretty! But not that good. I didn't want to bother the servers so I just kind of sipped on it slowly until we left instead of ask for another. I went with a chicken fajita salad too. Really nice presentation in a full fried tortilla bowl, but there's nothing really worth the $13 for it as it's just a standard bland salad with chicken. I wasn't terribly impressed either with their chips and salsa. That's hard to come by for me... but they did.
