  • I cannot speak to the merits of the cuisine here, but I will discuss the bar menu with which I was thoroughly satisfied. Harris Grill features extensive outdoor seating arrangements, making for a pleasant visit on a summer afternoon. The draft beer selection is respectable and caters to a wide range of taste for craft brews. The bottled beer selection is likewise commendable and versatile. I like that there were enough options to please the palate of almost any beer drinker, but not so much as to weight the menu down with endless variations on the same style. Far too many establishments invest heavily in a quantitative selection that actually inhibits customers from trying a few quality beers by swamping them with a lengthy draft list. I would recommend Harris Grill for a casual beer with friends. Cocktails: The "Gods Swill" cocktail menu at Harris Grill features a nice balance of classic cocktail variations and a few house blends with the emphasis rightly placed upon the former. I was pleased to find a half dozen variations of the manhattan, a cocktail of whiskey, wine, and bitters, that were each unique takes upon this staple of the American bar. I was disappointed in their "Rye Mint Julep" as, being from the south, I do not take to soda in my whiskey, particularly in a mint julep. The drink was watery and lacked the viscosity of a proper julep. I was impressed with the "Chelsea Manhattan" (served "up" after my experience with the julep) and would say that all considered, the Harris has a strong bartender. The cocktail menu itself is accurate if verbose. The service was neither slow nor fast, with attention at the right moments and minimal interruptions. A great level of service for enjoying a few drinks. The food is by all appearances standard bar fare but who cares; the lord didn't give me a liver for eating. A very enjoyable bar and outdoor seating arrangement. Although I did not probe the wine selection, I would recommend the Harris Grill's bar to beer and cocktail enthusiast alike.
