Someone recently told me that Rogers Centre was one of the worst places they'd been to for a game. My reaction to them: "you are totally crazy!"
Hubs and I attended two Yankees/Blue Jays games this past summer at Rogers Centre and had a really great time at both. The first game, a Thursday night, was so much fun! As a pregame treat - the Blue Jays had a band hanging out in the outfield playing live music. We heard Whitney and Michael covers (among others) and the singers were really really good. The live music felt like it started the party off right. The Yankees also won that night, so that was awesome too.
Game #2 was viewed from the upper deck behind home plate and the view was just as good as the night before. I really don't think there's a bad seat in the place.
Other observations:
+ The hometown crowd is great (despite them rooting for the opposite team, hah!). These folks really love their Blue Jays! Like that Tulo Clap?! Every one in the stands was doing this clap/chant thing, even me (to the dismay of my Hubs). "clapclap // clapclapclap // clapclapclapclap TULO!"
+ The view is pretty amazing. The CN Tower standing tall right next to the stadium - and as the sun sets the tower lights up... so cool to see.
+ Facilities were really nice. The course is easy to navigate - and I appreciated being able to see the field as I walked around. And the bathrooms - clean, stocked - no complaints!
Toronto in general was awesome to visit - the Rogers Centre was just a bonus. Next trip we take up north I look forward to seeing another ballgame in the park.
