  • I made reservations ahead of time. Glad I did! Even though there were three empty (dirty) tables when we arrived at 8:35, we were told to wait. We had a drink at the bar and looked over the menu. 15 minutes later, we were seated. 5 minutes go by, then someone comes by with water and tells us our waiter will be right with us. Guitar player and singer were very talented and a nice added touch! Then we are given warm sourdough bread with a plate of sun dried tomatoes with olive oil. Bitter and odd. In all of my years I have never been served anything but Italian bread in Italian restaurants. Bitter sun dried tomatoes with sourdough bread?! Eventually the bartender comes over, tells us the specials, and takes our order. Now we're up to 5 dirty tables around us. Chopped salad comes out. Lettuce, red cabbage, garbanzo beans, vinegrette. Very bitter and very little creativity. Eggplant parmegian and chicken parmegian come out with sides of Angel hair pasta. Large portions! My chicken was good as was the eggplant. Sauce on the pasta was also bitter. Now we're up to 7 dirty tables surrounding us! We ordered Nutella filled zeppoli for dessert with coffee. Great ending as dessert was nice and the coffee was excellent. Lack of busboys and waitstaff was obvious. Seven dirty tables at 9:30?! Not one dish or glass removed the entire time we were there. I never saw a manager the entire time. Bill for 2 entrees, a side salad, 3 glasses of wine, dessert, and coffee totaled around $110 including tip. Valet service was a needed touch as parking tends to be tough since they share a parking lot with another restaurant. Overall, good food and atmosphere, but lack of service ruined our visit. No hurry to go back.
