  • We went to Marché Bacchus to celebrate two birthdays. My husband and I even went over there to check it out beforehand since we are new to the area. We made reservations about 10 days ahead of time and requested to be on the patio by the water. First of all, we were seated in probably the worst spot in the restaurant; on the patio but the last table, not near the water. Within a few minutes a wedding venue that was nextdoor,with windows overlooking the dining area, started up with loud music. I had been looking forward to treating myself with their "Roasted Hudson Valley Foie Gras". This was not Fois Gras. It was something like a very fluffy mousse with no Fois Gras taste. When asked for a small butter knife to spread this concoction, I was told to use my large butter knife! I told the waitress that this was not Faux Gras and she told me the Chef had just changed the recipe. Next, I had ordered the flat iron steak. The steak was so salty it was practically inedible. The Pomme Frits came out of a frozen bag not homemade. On the plus side, my husband said his escargots were good and so were the scallops. I just think you should get something a little better for $200.
