I actually have the Bobby Flay grilling cookbook and find his sauces/flavors inspired. I ate at Mesa Grill in NYC and expected better, so I went in with modest expectations to the Las Vegas location. The service was great and the waiter knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks. I had the cactus pear margarita and it was wonderful!!! The waiter recommended it. I also had the shrimp and tamale appetizer and as expected the sauce was fantastic. My grilled salmon was undercooked (cold center), but flavors were nice. Bread basket didn't blend-three very different breads with very crumbly corn muffin. At my table we also had goat cheese fondue - lighter than expected and not too strong; sixteen spice chicken with coriander mashed potatoes - I am totally going to make those potatoes; black bean and chicken quesadilla- too smoky and dry; corn crusted chili relleno - yummy eggplant inside, but cornmeal crust was like sand -awful texture. My recommendation would be to go for drinks and appetizers. Try a nice sample of small dishes to share and toast your savvy menu choices with a lovely margarita.
