| - Every year on my mom's birthday, we partake in a family activity to celebrate. A few years ago we went canoeing; last year it was karaoke and a winery visit. This year, we decided to class it up to commemorate her 51st with a visit to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
This was the first time I have ever visited CMA. I was extremely impressed with the pieces in the permanent collections -- Monet, Degas, Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol, Rothko. So many inspiring pieces of art that it blew my mind. I really enjoyed some of the current exhibits as well, like the jewelry of John Paul Miller and Andrew Borowiec's photography of Cleveland.
It was the perfect way to spend a few hours on a Sunday with my family. Best of all, unlike museums elsewhere, CMA is completely free, allowing you to enjoy at your own pace since you know you can come back an unlimited number of times without breaking the bank. We left feeling relaxed, cultured and glad to have such an amazing gem in Cleveland.
