The beer is what matters most and to that affect I was feeling bold when I stopped in, so I tried the Sour Nectarine. We'd been in the sun all day and a fruit based beer had appeal. The first sip of this beer comes off like a lemon exploding in your mouth. Tart as sh*t and hardly appealing. Or is it? I kept going back for sip after sip until it was gone, so I can't deny that it was decent.
For dinner I ordered the spinach salad. The portion size was more adequate for lunch but it was also one of the best spinach salads I've ever had. With applewood-smoked bacon, white cheddar bleu cheese, diced tomatoes, sliced egg, red onion, maple & jalapeƱo bacon dressing...it's just damn good.
The restaurant itself has a corporate feel to it. Very rigid seating and decor. They do have outdoor seating but it was full up when we arrived, so we were forced indoors.
I liked my dinner and beer here but on the whole I'd say Destihl was average for a brewery restaurant.
Cheers.
