Arrived in Phoenix for our spring training vacation prepaid the rental car through hertz when we arrived the gentleman taking care of us informs me that he would be charging $200 on my card for a hold. I did not have enough credit on my card to do that so I asked him what can I do and he says I don't know, we can't put the $200 on any other card it has to be the card you made the reservation with so there's nothing I can do on this end and hands me a piece of paper with the customer service number circled. I go outside and call the customer service number and the lady on the other end informs me that it was stated in the terms and conditions that you had to pay the $200 and that I would not be getting my money back credited on my card that I prepaid, because there's a cancellation fee and it was already past the time that we were supposed to pick the car up. By this time i'm pretty convinced that customer service is not a priority with hertz. I then tell the lady there has to be something that can be done can I use my debit card and she tells me that the only thing I can do is cancel the reservation and rebook it on my debit card, that is the only Way I can issue a refund, which by the way would take 7 to 10 days to show on my credit card. Having no choice in the matter we ended up doing it. In the meantime $800 of our vacation money is tied up with them. The guy gave us a free upgrade,( how nice of him )it was way too late, by then I was so upset I couldn't even think straight. I give them zero stars zero customer service zero everything I would never ever ever recommend or rent from Hertz again.
